AIDA64 Engineer has a hardware detection engine unrivaled in its class. It provides detailed information about installed software and offers diagnostic functions and support for overclocking. As it is monitoring sensors in real time, it can gather accurate voltage, temperature and fan speed readings, while its diagnostic functions help detect and prevent hardware issues. It also offers a couple of benchmarks for measuring the performance of individual hardware components or the whole system. It is compatible with all 32-bit and 64-bit Windows editions, including Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016.

As with all our portable disk reviews, I would just like to make it clear from the start that we are, by no means, expecting the compared USB flash drives on the list to deliver performance competitive with the Western Digital Black P50 Game Drive SSD 1TB external solid state drive. However, our AIDA64 results do provide interesting insight to the performance of the Western Digital Black P50 Game Drive SSD 1TB as a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 storage device. As well, all of these benchmarks were conducted over SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps, so we are limited to a theoretical maximum throughput of 1250MB/s. As such, the quoted numbers from Western Digital of 2000MB/s will not be seen in our benchmarks. With sequential speed numbers of up to 940.4MB/s, random reads of 956.5MB/s, and buffered read speeds of 927.4MB/s, this is the fastest performing external SSD in this benchmark, which is even faster than the Crucial X8 1TB and the LaCie Rugged SSD 1TB. In addition, its 0.06ms random access time is the lowest compared to all of the drives. While we could not observe the rated maximum speeds, these are still excellent over the USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface.
