About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

The next tests are our usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often-quoted benchmark because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers and I have grown to embrace it as much as the next for the last little while. ATTO uses easily compressible data, so compression-heavy controllers will perform very well here. As far as the in-house Western Digital controller on the SN570 1TB is concerned, well, here are our results. It peaked at 2843MB/s write and 3288MB/s read. These are both slightly below the quoted maximum speeds, but still quite good. Under the curve, the SN570 traded blows with the older SN550 at smaller packet sizes, but pulled ahead once it reached 32K and higher. In the read test, the SN570 was practically, on all counts, improved from the SN550, in both its peak and under the curve. Compared to the SN750, the last WD Black PCIe 3.0 drive we reviewed, we once again see blows traded in the write tests under the curve, although the SN750 has a higher peak. The read test comparison shows a similar story as well. Even so, these are impressive numbers from the SN570 when you consider its budget nature.
