About AIDA64 Engineer

AIDA64 Engineer has a hardware detection engine unrivaled in its class. It provides detailed information about installed software and offers diagnostic functions and support for overclocking. As it is monitoring sensors in real time, it can gather accurate voltage, temperature and fan speed readings, while its diagnostic functions help detect and prevent hardware issues. It also offers a couple of benchmarks for measuring the performance of individual hardware components or the whole system. It is compatible with all 32-bit and 64-bit Windows editions, including Windows 10 and Windows Server 2019.

Our SSD review benchmark results are presented in alphabetical order, so it is understandable the first on the list are results from one of our favorite benchmarking programs, AIDA64 Engineer. Just to note, AIDA64 Engineer is a full synthetic benchmark. This means it is not necessarily a direct representation of real-life performance, such as how fast applications start or how fast it takes to start up your operating system. However, it does provide valuable insight into performance between different drives and different controllers.

As you can see in our graphs above, the Western Digital Blue SN570 NVMe SSD 1TB performed strongly in these tests when compared to all of the PCIe 3.0 drives, including the WD Blue SN550 1TB and older, but higher-end, WD Black SN750 1TB. In the linear read test, the SN570 1TB was near the top for the older generation of PCIe drives, with only the newer 4.0 storage options beating out the SN570. Continuing to the random and buffered read tests, the SN570 was very close to both of the older Western Digital drives, with it staying within 20MB/s of each other. The tested random access time was 0.02ms, which was tied for the lowest among all the drives. The rest of the comparison results against all the other drives can be seen in our graphs above. These tests are still synthetic tests, but the good thing is that the results are also quite favorable.
