Page 4 - Benchmark: ATTO Disk Benchmark
About ATTO Disk Benchmark
The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Following up next is our usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often quoted benchmark, because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers, and I have grown to embrace it as much as the next for the last little while. By varying the file transfer size, you can visually see how each product performs across the curve. In the Read section, the Western Digital Black WD6001FZWX 6TB was a class of its own. Its ramp up met or exceeded the Seagate drives, which traditionally performed very well in this area. In fact, it was only behind the WD Black 6TB in ramp up performance. On the other hand, it pulled higher peak rates than its corporate cousin. This came in at 261.251MB/s, which is followed by the WD Black 6TB at 231.409MB/s, and among the first HDDs we have tested to crack the 200MB/s mark here at APH Networks. In the Write section, it reached its peak rate at 4K and above. With a top write speed of 265.777MB/s, this, again, was incredible. Meanwhile, the WD Black 6TB peaked at 255.045MB/s, but for the most part, both drives were very close majority of the time.
