ASUS ProArt X870E-Creator WiFi Review (Page 12 of 12)

Page 12 - Conclusion

If there is one thing that is no surprise, it is the fact the ProArt lineup of ASUS' motherboards has never been targeted for the general public. Rather, the clean looks and added features reveal the true audience. It comes in a mostly matte black exterior with only small accents of gold markings. Instead of the typical RGB elements you might see, this ProArt X870E-Creator follows its predecessors in providing more of ASUS useful features, including all of their Q-Design elements, like Q-Latch and Q-Release for M.2 SSDs, Q-Antenna for their WiFi antenna, Q-Release Slim for the primary PCI Express slots, and Q-LED for POST debugging, among others. All these things make using the ASUS ProArt X870E-Creator WiFi intuitive to make configuration changes. Its spread of inputs and headers are excellent, including a pair of PCI Express 5.0 slots, M.2 PCI-e 5.0 slots, and USB SuperSpeed 40Gbps ports, among other modern selections. I also appreciate the accessible BIOS flashback and clear CMOS buttons on the back. Networking options include WiFi 7 and a set of 10Gbps and 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports. The ASUS UEFI BIOS is familiar too, with all the necessary adjustments you might need. In terms of performance, the ProArt X870E-Creator WiFi just works. There were no stability issues in performance and temperatures were in check with no anomalies. ASUS has provided quite a few options to help with getting a bit more out of your system with overclocking support for your CPU and memory. However, there are still a few areas to improve. For one, I still want to see an optical audio out jack. Some might also want something a bit more detailed debugging information, although I see this as a non-issue. Finally, you should also be aware of the division of PCI Express 5.0 lanes when you connect more cards or M.2 drives. At the time of the review, this motherboard may not be cheap at a price tag of $480, but the added features make this price justifiable. Overall, the ASUS ProArt X870E-Creator WiFi is a stable and dependable X870E motherboard that offers many convenience features in an immaculate package.
