Out of the box, there are quite a few additional accessories that come with the ASUS ProArt X870E-Creator WiFi, as shown in the photo above. In addition to the motherboard, which is contained in a shiny anti-static bag, you will receive four black SATA cables, a WiFi antenna, short DisplayPort-to-DisplayPort cable, two sets of M.2 rubber pads for supporting single-sided NVMe SSDs, two additional latches to attach M.2 drives, Q-connector to combine the front-panel I/O, and a ProArt ruler. The SATA cables come in a pair of straight connections and another pair of 90-degree angled connectors. The ruler is the most interesting addition, as it does not really play any functional role other than being a cool add-on. All these items are in their own plastic pouches. Thankfully, in 2025, we do not have any DVDs with drivers. On the other hand, it might have been nice to see a USB drive included with all the drivers and manuals, especially if people do not have internet access when they are building their system. Finally, there is a thin book of documentation of quick start information with the motherboard.

As the name suggests, the ASUS ProArt X870E-Creator uses the X870E chipset. This is AMD's high-end flagship chipset for this current generation of AM5-based processors. It supports features like processor and memory overclocking, twenty-four PCIe 5.0 lanes, forty-four PCIe lanes in total, eight SATA 6GB/s ports, two USB 20Gbps ports, twelve USB 10Gbps ports, and two USB 5Gbps ports. Also, the latest X870E and X870 chipsets now come with USB 4.0 support as a mandatory inclusion. Comparisons with other AM5 chipsets above are from AMD's website.
