All tests were ran at 1680x1050 with all settings turned to the maximum unless otherwise stated, with the only manipulated variables in the tests being AA and AF settings. ATI Catalyst 7.5 was used for the Asus EAX1950PRO, and NVIDIA ForceWare 158.22 was used for our Asus EN8800GTS 320MB. At press time, the average price in US dollars for the Asus EAX1950PRO $140, and $300 for the Asus EN8800GTS 320MB.

Please note that the cards used in this review are for reference only as they are completely different classes of cards designed for various purposes, therefore the cost must be taken into account.

Our benchmarks for Half-Life 2: Lost Coast have been modified to stress the video card a little bit more. Since NVIDIA cards do not support 6xAA with this game (The setting can be enabled, but it won't work), 4xAA with 16xAF has been selected for this game. The Asus EN8800GTS 320MB was almost twice as powerful as the Asus EAX1950PRO.

With AF reduced to 8x, FPS rose for both cards slightly -- where the Asus EAX1950PRO saw a more prominent gain. The Asus EN8800GTS 320MB's 78FPS took a significant lead over the Asus EAX1950PRO at 45FPS.

Still retaining its momentum, with no AA and Bilinear AF the Asus EN8800GTS 320MB is still nearly twice as powerful as the Asus EAX1950PRO.
