PCMark 10 is a popular full system benchmark from UL. We used PCMark 10's Full System Drive Benchmark to test the performance of the Crucial P310 2280 1TB. According to UL, the Full System Drive Benchmark uses a wide-ranging set of real-world traces from popular applications and common tasks to fully test the performance of the fastest modern drives. The following traces were used and defined as follows:
boo: Booting Windows 10
sacr: Adobe Acrobat - starting the application until usable
saft: Adobe After Effects - starting the application until usable
sill: Adobe Illustrator - starting the application until usable
spre: Adobe Premiere Pro - starting the application until usable
slig: Adobe Lightroom - starting the application until usable
sps: Adobe Photoshop - starting the application until usable
bf: Battlefield V - starting the game until the main menu
cod: Call of Duty Black Ops 4 - starting the game until the main menu
ow: Overwatch - starting the game until main menu
aft: Using Adobe After Effects
exc: Using Microsoft Excel
ill: Using Adobe Illustrator
ind: Using Adobe InDesign
pow: Using Microsoft PowerPoint
psh: Using Adobe Photoshop (heavy use)
psl: Using Adobe Photoshop (light use)
cp1: Copying 4 ISO image files, 20 GB in total, from a secondary drive to the target drive (write test)
cp2: Making a copy of the ISO files (read-write test)
cp3: Copying the ISO to a secondary drive (read test)
cps1: Copying 339 JPEG files, 2.37 GB in total, to the target drive (write test)
cps2: Making a copy of the JPEG files (read-write test)
cps3: Copying the JPEG files to another drive (read test)
As can be seen in our graphs above, the Crucial P310 2280 1TB came in a little bit above average in a group of twenty-three competitors. In this test, the P310 2280 beat the Corsair MP600 Elite 2TB by a very wide margin, putting it in the same performance category as older performance SSDs like the Kingston KC3000 1TB and WD_BLACK SN850 1TB, as well as newer budget models like the Netac NV7000-Q 1TB. However, it was marginally slower than the P310 2230 2TB, and it was not even close to the WD_BLACK SN770 1TB. The final score tells a lot of the story, but the details are important as we look at the throughput of each of the twenty-three traces used. In these simulated real-life workloads, the Crucial P310 2280 1TB continuously dominated the MP600 Elite 2TB, passed by the Netac NV7000-Q, and not even close to the WD_BLACK SN770 1TB in basically every trace, which was reflected by its final score.
