Far Cry 2 is the oldest game in our array of benchmarks. Released on October 21, 2008, Far Cry 2 uses a heavily modified version of the Dunia Engine with Havok Physics. This DirectX 10 game comes with an excellent benchmark utility that quite well reflects in-game performance, so again, we decided to use it to obtain our results for our graphs above. At 1920x1200 and everything maxed out, the Gigabyte Radeon HD 6870 1GB SOC wasn't a whole lot faster than a reference 6870; but the difference can clearly be seen between the 6870 and 6850.
