The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Our next set of tests are the usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often-quoted benchmark because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers and I have grown to embrace it as much as the next for the last little while. ATTO uses easily compressible data, so compression-heavy controllers will perform very well here.

The Kingston NV3 2TB hit peak speeds of 5330MB/s write and 5830MB/s read. These numbers were on the slower side of things, and notably behind the quoted 6000MB/s read speed from the manufacturer. Under the write curve, the NV3 2TB was also on the slow side to reach its peak speed. Compared with drives like the NV7000-Q, the NV3 was similar in characteristics, but also slightly behind. It did not reach its peak speed until 4MB packet sizes, which is far later than most SSDs. This was just as poor in the write speed ramp up, as the NV3 2TB did not reach its maximum until the 2MB packet sizes. Overall, this was one of the weakest drives we have seen under the curve for both read and write performance.
