About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Ever since we have started using ATTO in our network attached storage reviews a few years back, it has been vital in our battery of storage performance evaluations here at APH Networks – mainly due to its accuracy and thorough testing algorithm in accordance to varying transfer files. From the graphs above, you can see the Patriot Stellar 64GB USB 3.0 drive peaks at 30.783 MB/s write and 125.144 MB/s read. The write results end up between the OCZ Rally2 Turbo 4GB and the Kingston DataTraveler Locker+ G2 32GB; both USB 2.0 drives. This is not a good place to end up, especially when you see that the Rally2 Turbo is actually faster than the Stellar 64GB in practically all of the smaller sizes, up to 4096KB. You could argue that most people do not need to worry about smaller file sizes, but I would actually argue this is one of the more vital areas this flash drive needs to succeed in, since many of the files moved from a computer to a mobile device are not generally going to be big in size, but closer to these smaller files. In terms of read performance, the rated numbers are approximately 40MB/s slower than the AIDA64 numbers at peak file size. As well, this peak is lower than the rated 140MB/s given by Patriot. These numbers will not blow anything out of the water. Considering the actual purpose and small physical size of the Patriot Stellar 64GB, its read performance is actually pretty darn good.
