ROCCAT Kone Pro Review (Page 4 of 4)

Page 4 - Conclusion

Given the ROCCAT Kone Pro is the wired version of the excellent Kone Pro Air, the mouse we are reviewing today has the advantage of not having a battery inside, making it a full 9g lighter than its wireless counterpart at an impressive 66g. To put that into perspective, it is even lighter than the 68g Burst Pro, but with better specifications. Needless to say, there is a lot to like about the Kone Pro, given how little compromises this mouse comes with. It features an ergonomic shape for a comfortable fit, and the materials used for the shell grip well and feel nice. I also enjoy the great actuation response given by the Titan Switch Optical underneath the buttons. The lightweight aluminum Titan Wheel Pro feels great, too. Underneath the impenetrable body is a high-performance and power efficient PixArt PAW3370 sensor as well as onboard memory to store up to five user profiles. What is there to not like? To be honest, not a lot. My suggestion would be to have a paracord cable, which may not seem like a big deal especially considering the included PhantomFlex cable is already pretty good, but once you have used a mouse with one, you will never go back. Also, ROCCAT Swarm still has not changed since forever, and some of the features and RGB LED lighting effects are either hard to use or outdated compared to the competition. A Swarm replacement is on the way, but until then, we are stuck with what we have always seen. For about $80 at press time, the ROCCAT Kone Pro is an incredible wired ultralight mouse that delivers both in features and in performance.
