Since our SSD review benchmark results are presented in alphabetical order, first up on the list are results from one of our favorite benchmarking programs, AIDA64 Extreme Engineer. Just to note, AIDA64 Extreme Engineer is a full synthetic benchmark. Unlike full synthetic motor oil, this usually does not carry a good connotation, but it does provide valuable insight into performance between different drives and different controllers. As you can see in our graphs above, the SanDisk Extreme II 240GB took home some records right off the bat. It was the fastest drive we have ever tested in AIDA64's Linear Read and Buffered Read suite. Okay, to be fair, it barely edged out the competition in the latter, and probably within the program's margin of error. That said, it still ranked among the top in the Random Read section, and held the record for the lowest access time of 0.03ms -- and this is compared to almost two dozen other SSDs we have tested in the past.
