About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Next is our usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often quoted benchmark, because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers, too. ATTO uses easily compressible data, so SandForce based SSDs and similar will perform very well here; as far as the Toshiba controller is concerned, the results speak for themselves. Most manufacturer peak read and write performance ratings are usually obtained using ATTO, whether a drive lives up to its marketing claims or not can be validated by this program. With the TL100 240GB, a maximum read and maximum write claimed at 550MB/s and 530MB/s, respectively. According to our tests, these numbers were slightly underrated, although by a small margin. It peaked at 563.151MB/s read and 544.125MB/s write, which is faster than both of the Trions, the UV400, and the MX300. Under the curve, it was slightly faster than its older brothers, the Trion 100 and 150, for the write curve. However, the UV400 480GB was much faster than all three of the Toshiba OCZ drives in terms of ramp up. As for its read curve, the results flipped, as the Trion 100 and 150 were both faster in terms of reaching peak performance, while the TL100 and the UV400 were practically the same across the numbers. The Crucial MX300 was also quite a bit faster under the curve for write, though slower for read. As you can see, the results are all over the place, and the TL100 240GB trades blows with other solid state drives in the price bracket for various criteria.
