About ATTO Disk Benchmark

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously. Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Next is our usual ATTO read and write tests. ATTO is an often quoted benchmark, because it is easy to use and accurate. For the most part, it is a favorite among reviewers, too. ATTO uses easily compressible data, so SandForce based SSDs and similar will perform very well here. The Crucial BX300 240GB again performed similarly to majority of the drives on this list, coming somewhere in the middle where all the lines look like they converge. ATTO is the software usually used to obtain the results that are advertised. For the Crucial BX300 240GB, it was advertised to have up 510MB/s write. Some of the results actually exceeded this mark, with a maximum write speed of 528MB/s. Comparing it with the Crucial MX300 750GB, the BX300 had a slower write ramp up speed. The BX300 only reached its peak write speed at 4096KB transfer size. As for the read speeds, its advertised read speed was 555MB/s. The results met and exceeded it once again, coming in at a maximum of 563MB/s. However, the read speed did not ramp up as fast as did the MX300, which reached its peak speed at 256KB, while the BX300 only reached its top speed at 1024KB. Overall, the Crucial BX300 240GB lived up to its advertised speeds and sat comfortably in the middle of the pack.
