About 3DMark

3DMark includes everything you need to benchmark your hardware in one app. Whether you're gaming on a smart phone, tablet, notebook, laptop, desktop, or a high performance gaming PC, 3DMark includes a benchmark designed specifically for your type of device. And it's not just for Windows. You can compare your scores with Android and iOS devices too. It's the best 3DMark we've ever created.

Like Futuremark's PCMark 8 benchmarking suite, 3DMark is yet another favorite among enthusiasts and reviewers alike. In fact, it has been part of the APH Networks' battery of standard benchmarks since the very beginning. The latest iteration of 3DMark is available in four presets. This includes Fire Strike, Sky Diver, Cloud Gate, and Ice Storm; each in decreasing order of GPU dependency. To give our test platform a little more challenge, I have enabled the Extreme option, where available. As you can see in our graphs above, once again, the overclocked Intel Core i5-6600K provided a boost in score compared to running it at stock with Turbo Boost enabled, with the gain dependent on the test. For the more GPU dependent tests, such as Fire Strike Extreme and Sky Diver, the score increased 4.2% and 9.2%, respectively. For the remaining two tests, which are more CPU dependent, it was much more significant at 19.6% and 18.1%, respectively.
