DiRT 3 is a very popular game for benchmarking. It is developed by Codemasters, and runs off the EGO 2.0 game engine. DiRT 3 is definitely a welcomed departure from using first person shooters for testing; this is the only racing game in our standard battery of benchmarks. Released over two years ago on May 24, 2011, DiRT 3 has an excellent in-game benchmarking function that actually reflects real life performance quite well, so we decided to give it a shot to obtain our standardized results. Once again, at 1920x1200 and everything maxed out, the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 2GB delivered very playable framerates at maximum settings. It is also quite a bit more powerful than our reference Radeon HD 7870; delivering about 27% higher framerate on average with AA disabled, and 20% higher framerate on average at 8x MSAA.
