About 3DMark
The new 3DMark includes everything you need to benchmark your hardware. With three all new tests you can bench everything from smartphones and tablets, to notebooks and home PCs, to the latest high-end, multi-GPU gaming desktops. And it's not just for Windows. With 3DMark you can compare your scores with Android and iOS devices too. It's the most powerful and flexible 3DMark we've ever created.

Like Futuremark's PCMark 8 benchmarking suite, 3DMark is yet another favorite among enthusiasts and reviewers alike. In fact, it has been part of the APH Networks' battery of standard benchmarks since the very beginning. The latest iteration of 3DMark is available in four presets. This includes Fire Strike, Sky Diver, Cloud Gate, and Ice Storm; each in decreasing order of GPU dependency. To give our test platform a little more challenge, I have enabled the Extreme option, where available. As you can see in our graphs above, once again, the overclocked Intel Core i7-4790K did not provide a big boost in score compared to running it at stock with Turbo Boost enabled. In fact, in Fire Storm and Sky Diver, the delta is negligible at best. It became more evident in Cloud Gate and Ice Storm, because these tests, while still very dependent on the GPU, is dialed back slightly for more CPU dependency.
