About PCMark Vantage

PCMark Vantage is a PC benchmark suite designed for Windows Vista offering one-click simplicity for casual users and detailed, professional grade testing for industry, press and enthusiasts.

A PCMark score is a measure of your computer’s performance across a variety of common tasks such as viewing and editing photos, video, music and other media, gaming, communications, productivity and security. From desktops and laptops to workstations and gaming rigs, by comparing your PCMark Vantage score with other similar systems you can find the hardware and software bottlenecks that stop you getting more from your PC.

In terms of the PCMark Vantage results, the Atom D525 with NVIDIA ION 2 had a slight edge on the eOntario T56N with AMD Radeon HD 6310 in the overall PCMark score. Although the eOntario based system beat the Atom based system in every area except memories and gaming, the overall higher score was given to the Atom "for some reason". This is probably due to PCMark Vantage's weighting algorithm, but every result is posted in our graphs above for you to view. It is important to reiterate that the AMD Radeon HD 6310 shares memory with the RAM, since it does not have dedicated memory. However, in terms of the rest of the scores, the Jetway NF81 scored significantly higher.
